Fast, easy and reliable way to check the shutter count of supported EOS cameras. Very handy when buying or selling. Nothing fancy - it just works.

This worked easily with a Canon 70D I just bought on eBay.
Used it on my Canon 5D MKII’s before I put them up for sale and it did exactly what it said it would do. People who bought the gear appreciated the info and I was happy it agreed with what I was saying was the usage on the cameras. It may be just me but i prefer being able to connect directly to the camera with the cord that came boxed wih the camera. Money well spent.
Quickly provides serial number, shutter count, and owners name (if entered on camera) from a USB-connected camera. This program costs the same as a single use of the EOSCount software.
I have been searching online for something that would tell me the shutter count on my canon 5d mark iii. Nothing worked until i read some reviews about this app working for other people. Well this app is great. It was only three dollars and worth every penny! If you own a canon dslr and need to know the shutter count this app works great.
Does exactly what it says. Used it on 2 camera bodies (60D & SL-1). I downloaded the app, opened it and plugged in my camera, turned the camera on and the info displayed instantly. Totally worth $3.
This was a waste of 3 dollars. I bought this so that I could sell my Canon 6D on eBay with the shutter count listed. Canon does not make it easy to find this info in camera. This app gave me a reading of around 8300. I thought this was weird because my image file numbers already hit “IMG_9999” and had rolled back the odometer “IMG_0000”. (I just wasn’t sure if that meant 10K, 20K or 30K.) I ended up downloading Magic Lantern to double check this number. There was a video on YouTube showing how to check your shutter count with ML. It turns out that I had around 11,000 actuations. ML shutter count on camera read something like, “11K = 8300 + 2650”. So I’m glad I didn’t rely on this app. It was not accurate for my Canon 6D. Maybe that is just the way it reads that particular camera. I don’t know. For me, it was a waste.
Don’t waste your time searching the internet for an hour for shutter count websites.. This works really fast and well, I got my reading clearly in under a minute. Plus those free websites might have malware.. Just better to get this app. Very happy.
Just plug your camera into your Mac via the cameras USB cable and bam! Theres the shutter count! Great and necessary when selling on eBay!
I used this app with my Canon EOS 1Dx a year ago. Shutter Count recorded 51474 accuations on Oct 17, 2014. After almost exactly a year (today is Oct 15, 2015) Shutter Count reports I my 1Dx now has 63591 total shutter accuations - a total of 12,117 accuations in the past 12 months. However, my Lightroom database shows over 18,000 images from this camera for the same period. And that doesn’t account for several thousand images I have discarded. (At 12 frames per second, there are plenty of discards in wildlife photography.) I question the validity of this data.
I just checked my Canon 7D. It said I have 19,836. My last picture that I took on it was numbered 9428, meaning the correct number is 19,428 so it’s about 400 off.
I have a 5D Mark II it took less than 5 minutes to read it. Good price and efficient.
Used this app to get a shutter count on my Canon T3i prior to sale. App was unable to see the camera until I installed Canon’s EOS utility on my MBP. Based on my usage I think the count is reasonably accurate. From what I’ve read it’s difficult to get an exact number, and with shutters rated to 100k+ actuations, ballpark is good enough.
Ive used this app for several cameras. Some well used and one, in particular, brand new. The used ones came up with numbers which seemed a bit low. About 15000 for a 3 year old 5D3 that was heavily used in a production studio. Today I tested a new 7D Mark II and got 7600. That’s a lot of activations for a new in the box camera.
Instead of going through the tutorials to do a bunch of steps I wasn’t comfortable with, I just launched this and it worked quickly and accurately. I also tested it by taking a few more pictures and recounting the shutter. It was totally accurate for my Canon 5D Mark II
I spend a lot of time looking for a free program to check the counter in my 5D mark II, I purchase this program and WOW!! In less of a minute I got it! Thanks!!!!!
Best for Canon 70d and 60d. Stay away from online free apps or pay, they put malware and virus on computers . Especially if you have a pc. This count is very accurate..and you can test it buy taking a few shots after using it once, then checking the count right after once again. Awesome! Canon does not make it easy, camera shops lie and tell you the only way to get the count is to send back to canon, just so they can charge you. and waste time..Get this app..works like a charm.
